iPhone 6 anyone?
« on: September 12, 2012, 05:11:02 PM »

I just read a few articles on the new iPhone 6. Sounds pretty cool, I might buy one. I'm up for an upgrade so what the hell right? Just spreading the word/seeking opinions.

I guess I just don't see the point in upgrading your phone constantly. You still call the same people, surf the same web, and use the same apps.

Well I am android right now, I have the Droid Incredible 2, but its almost impossible to turn it on and off because the on/off switch is broken. So I'm interested in getting an Apple device, just so I have something to compare off of. Of course, this wouldn't even be under consideration if I didn't have an upgrade discount available. Those take years to accumulate so... I figure it wouldn't be a bad use.

iPhone 5, Galaxy S-3... both are good, can't go wrong with either. I personally just got a Droid Razr Maxx because it has the longest battery life of any smart phone on the market by a large margin and isn't that much less powerful than the phones I just mentioned. Apparently the antenna on the Razr Maxx isn't as good as the Galaxy S-3's, but it hasn't been an issue for me so far. It's also $50 cheaper than the Galaxy.

Just noticed you called it iPhone 6. The iPhone that was just announced is the iPhone 5. It's going to be running iOS 6, which is where your confusion is probably coming from.

EDIT: I just replaced my Droid for the same reason you're replacing your phone. Only reason I got a new phone =p

It looks good, not many innovations, but it's certainly better in every way.

I have a £30 phone from Tesco. I don't think I'm qualified to talk about this. Either way, if you want a smartphone, get the cheapest one you can - they all do similar things, and you don't need to spend more money on a feature you won't use.

Oh, and blah blah, Apple consumerism, blah blah.

I don't even have a touch phone. My friend gave me his old iTouch though, on the condition that he wouldn't tell me the password. Wiped it out in a few hours once I got home. Needless to say I had the last laugh when he saw me playing Angry Birds for the first time the next day. I gave him a few pointers. :)
