But that will probably also extend to all the games they publish. IIRC they tend to be rather demanding to the developers, and meddling excessively. And they do have quite a few good developers under their wing. Maxis and Bioware, to name a couple

Actually, both maxis and bioware has dropped their products quality in favor of money, as can be seen with ME3's ending and day-1 DLC. I think it's sad that their "money-monkeys" do this to high-quality game studios and games. :/

I have a feeling that's less due to favouring money on the developers' part and more pressure from above. Since EA is the publisher, they're the ones holding the strings. There really isn't much Bio/Maxis can do against them if they demand something.

Why? Why is ea so bad? Why do they do this? They used to be good, revenue-making and great-games maker. Now they're just your run of the mill greedy corp that apparently does everything that they want to to make their little remaining userbase go away.

For the money. After all, your most reliable repeat customers will be the lowest common denominator when you release a FIFA game every year, without fail (Though the games themselves...)

I'll miss crysis, that was pretty much the only modern-day shooter that I liked

Yeah. Crysis 3 looks like it's gonna go down the drain really quickly. :/

I'm actually fine if they leave the mechanics as they are, just another story would be nice(I like the writer, I had actually read his previous books)

I miss the days of games being feature complete upon launch. With no planning for the next 10 DLCs to be launched over the next year in a bid to milk the most out of everyone.

Actually Crysis 3 does have Cryengine 4 IIRC, which includes...
...a lot. Basically they're stating it will be able to make jungles perfectly. Even better than Crysis 1.

And apparently the world is huge.

I love the cryengine series, I'm not complaining about that, it's the companies marketing stance that ruins it for me.
