5 new vanilla missions
« on: August 21, 2012, 12:32:46 PM »

hello there!

I just wanted to create a few more vanilla missions. i tried to make some of them a real challenge, but its hard to say if they have they intended difficulty when nobody tried them before. So please tell me what you think about them.

and there is another thing ^^
english is not my mother tongue, so the mission descriptions could need much correction. could anybody help me with these?

Spoiler
Location: Edge of the Kraken Nebula
Date: 184.04.12

A large Hegemony Battle Group under Commodore Jensulte is on its way to Abiraxis to support the local governor who is overwhelmed by a rebellion. Unfortunatly Abiraxis is located deep inside the Kraken Nebula, which makes movement and communications very difficult.

And the rebels of Abiraxis are watching them until the time to strike is right. The rebels are able to find a hole in the formation of the Hegemony fleet which allows them to strike against the flagship right before the rest of the fleet can arrive.

With only parts of the elite guard available the only chance to win this battle is to prevend the enemy from going into attack formation and destroy the cruisers one by one.

Spoiler
Location: Still in orbit around Aureus III
Date: 201.09.18

The surviving salvagers were happy about the fact that they were able to fend off the pirates and scavengers, so they were mentaly prepared to depart from Aureus III.

Suddenly a few hired battleships arrived and they realized that their fleet commander must have forgotten to tell them, that there is still worthy equipment to get.

Although the salvagers - except of the commander - are not really happy, they will be even more unhappy when they face the fleet of the local warlord Odan who has heard the word about a lightheaded group of tech miners in the Auereus System. At last, the hired mercenenaries are eager to earn their money.

Spoiler
Location: In approach to Abiraxis II
Date: 184.04.28

The word about the brave rebellion of the miners of Abiraxis has spread to the last edge of the sector. The people of the abiraxian mining worlds don't want to belong the the Hegemony any longer. And several factions are interested in a success of the rebellion.

The League of Nonaligned Worlds - through secret go-between organisations - and the Tri-Tachyon Corporation have delivered a few ship hulls, very few weapons and military advisors through the Kraken Nebula.

Now the powerful fleet of the miners - consisting of a lot mining blasters mixed with sophisticated technology - is now on its way to fight the last critical battle against a even more powerful "peacekeeping" force of the Hegemony.

Spoiler
Location: Near of the Orbital Station of Detrix Prime
Date: 196.08.01

The independent fleet around the ISS Aesir did somehow manage to find secret facility of the Hegemony and get out alive.

The fleet immediately headed to Detrix Prime - far away from Hegemony Influence - where they resupplied and hired a few lonely vagabonds who where looking for adventures. The next logic task would be to sell the coordinates of the coordinates of  the secret facility to the Tri-Tachyions. No doubt they would be really interested.

The last logic task of Hegemony was to issue a high very high bounty to those independents.

Spoiler
Location: Outer rim of the Detrix system
Date: 128.04.26

A superior Tri-Tachyion Carrier Group was hunting a Hegemony expidition through many non aligned worlds for a long time. The proud Tri-Tachyion Commander Abaan - later known as "Abaan the fooled" - was convinced that the enemy shuttle escortet by two frigates who where heading to the main world of Detrix were nothing more than cowards running from their duties. So he did not wasted any ships to catch them.

He was also convinced that the enemy admiral could not be very experienced. Why would he try to hide his small fleet in a asteroid belt while he knew that a few Tri-Tachyion scouts are watching every step of them? Now its time to end it, too much time wasted for such an easy prey.

After the Carrier Group entered the scene the commander realized something. Merceneries! The fleet commander forgot that Detrix Prime is the most frequentet world in the next 20 lightyears, of course there are many headhunters willing to take every job. And the hegemony admiral could not believe that his pathetic plan could really worked.

Excellent idea for a mod. I'll try this out tonight.

I really like this. The missions are quite challenging, but not unplayable. I haven't beaten them all yet, though I'm slowly making progress. (I will note that I use the Weapons pack mod as I like the additional tactical options provided by the weapons in it.)

Anyway, It'd be great to have a mod project that is just more vanilla missions.
I'd try to contribute, but I'd have to learn how to make missions first. I can't seem to find a tutorial in the resources section.
