what title says as you can see from the screen shots when i give my Hyperion full escort assignment the *bleep* will try to and actually teleport INSIDE the battleship or even better between one of the gaps between the battleships(burndriving if possible) frontal prongs causing it to die in a horrible albeit funny way

Can you send me a save where this happens reliably, or tell me the steps to reproduce it? I'm not able to do that, and looking at the code, it seems impossible for it to teleport inside a ship - if you try it yourself, it'll actually keep moving to an unoccupied location... not sure what circumstances caused it to happen for you.

It's not just him; it happens rarely, but occasionally I have noticed that a free-attacking Hyperion teleport into an asteroid or another ship (this was using the 'edit variant' battle test Hyperion) - it seems to happen when there isn't a lot of room where it is trying to 'port to. (As if the collision detection system overloads and says 'whatever' and plops the hyperion down in the middle of the cluster of stuff, which often results in it clipping into one of the objects)

Hmm, yes, that might happen. Adjusted the area it looks in trying to find a safe teleport destination before giving up on it - should be much less likely to fail to find a good location, though it ought to be pretty unlikely in the first place.

theres pirate armada just in front of my fleet so engage them, when deploying fleet only deploy hyperion and onslaught, ignore those talons those just got capped.

steps to reproduce: after battle starts get the onslaught moving and then set full escort on it, they hyperion will try to get close and teleport into his side in the process....its as if he misjudged teleporter range and instead of teleporting clear on the other side of the ship he just ends up inside

works in about 80% of cases for me so i cant use him as sole escort which is rather bad when youre flying an onslaught.....

Just had this happen with a Paragon.

My fleet was 1xParagon, 3x Medusa, 2xHyperion.

- I was flying straight and level in my Paragon
- Set a light escort order on the Paragon
- Hyperion 1st teleported right next to the hull, causing a collision.
- Then, it backed off and a few seconds later teleported again right inside my ship.
- He instantly exploded and caused quite major damage to my ship.

There were no other obstacles nearby; no missiles in flight, and no enemies anywhere near.

The screenshot was taken about 10 seconds after the collision, hence why there are now rockets in flight; they had not been fired at the time the collision occurred.

I have also managed to teleport inside an onslaught at one point I was attempting to go in front of it it engaged burn drive I ended up appearing inside it and dealing about 2k hull dmg before exploding obviously not the ai doing it but proving it can happen.  It will generally occur due to engaging phase tp where the re is no enemy and they manage to make it there before you become fully solid.
