Java cast crash on starting combat

While testing out my mod, I got this error when initiating combat with a pirate fleet; it doesn't seem to be related to the mod (which just adds ships & spawnpoints & stuff, all of which has been successfully tested in combat before, and the crash occurred exactly when starting combat)

It's mod-related - one of your ship systems has:

"type":"WEAPON",
"aiType":"EMP",

The only valid aiType for "WEAPON" is "FLARE".

Ok I see, it never crashed during testing (probably since I was piloting it, now that I think of it), hence why I never caught that. (That system was dummied out anyways because I couldn't get multiple point emission EMP so...)
