Since it never existed in any reasonable form in the first place, no :)

(In other words, yes)

Ah well then, I guess it's for the best.  Also, any chance we'll get bigger ion weapons?

It's a shame that it never made it. I have 4 sitting in my inventory right now - I think I got them from Corporate HQ - and I really wanted to unlock/equip them somehow.

You say that they never really existed, but was there any particularly interesting idea behind them, or just another weapon?

well as far as i can tell form the name, it has something to do with bombs (an interdictor is a bombing craft)

well as far as i can tell form the name, it has something to do with bombs (an interdictor is a bombing craft)

and is named after what it does/what the word means:

"The purpose of air interdiction is to delay, disrupt, or destroy enemy forces or supplies en route to the battle area before they do or are used to do any harm against friendly forces."

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/interdict:

4. to forbid; prohibit.

6. to impede by steady bombardment

in this case, the interdictor beam would be something akin to a gravity beam to hold enemies in place or slow them down significantly.

Not to interrupt your discussion, but... locking because there's nothing bug-relevant going on here, and I've got to read any new post that comes up in this section. Please try to keep the posts here on-topic both in terms of the thread and the subforum.
