Hey everyone I love doing mod packs for my favorite games! Here's a pack I made that includes almost all factions that are compatible with exerelin. It will also load without exerelin in a regular campaign if thats your thing  ;).

I've included a readme that goes more in depth about the mod pack.

Modded vmprams file included in the mod

Starsector 0.6.2a

Installation Instructions.

1. Install Starsector 0.6.2a
2. Make a back up of your mods folder vmprams file and jre folder
3. Delete everything in your mod folder, delete the jre folder and vmprams file
4. Copy the jre folder mods folder and vmprams file to the starsector folder
5. Play the game.

Troubleshooting
This collection of mods is not guaranteed to work on your system and I am almost 100% sure it wont work on a 32 bit system.
This is a very ram intensive mod pack and many files are loaded into memory. If your ram and/or cpu is slow or faulty or if you simply dont have enough you will get a null error crash.
The thing you can do in this instance is deselect some factions that you are not interested in having in your game.

That sounds fantastic, Exelerin is loads of fun, but building an installation is an arduous undertaking.

Did you get permission from the mod authors?

He didn't ask me, but I personally don't mind if my mod is included at the moment. I'm pretty sure I can't speak for the others, though.

Psssh, asking for permission is so overrated... most modders are fine with you distributing their stuff as packs. imo it adds a certain bit of "prestige" or flair when you make it into a compilation.

and yeah, distribute away/permission granted/rock on/have a nice day!  ;)

Have been playing around with this (and Ironclads, switching between the two) for the last few days, really digging it. Some of the mods stand out a bit too much for my tastes (Zorg, DSTech, Objectless Research Institute), but those were toggled off easily enough. Fun stuff, and a great way for me to get back into the game!

About DSTech: They are not supposed to be balanced, 3 weeks ago they weren't even included into Exerelin. Basically it's a more or less a dead mod (It's working fine with the current version of Exerelin and SS, I made sure of that). I merely updated it some time ago to be playable with current SS version and balanced the faction a slight bit to have a little bit of weak spots but DSTech is meant to be overpowered by the author.

I saw the topic before whilst downloading the compilation, had a good laugh playing with the ships and (especially!) their weapons knowing the faction was still entirely overpowered. It's not my style for an extended play, but it was good fun for a bit and I appreciate the effort made to keep it working. :P
