Rome Total War 2
« on: July 20, 2012, 05:23:55 AM »

Is anyone else excited? I just hope they don't screw it up with dlc and wish that they would ho back to the *only being able to play factions after decimating them*...

I'd love it if they borrowed some of the diplomacy mechanics from Crusader Kings 2.
I've fallen in love with it since I bought it in the Steam sale - it's got so much more depth to it than any of the Total War series.

As to other aspects of the game.... they need to get back to the playability that Medieval 2 had.
Everything since then has been down hill IMO.

Medival 2 and earlier are the best!

I know! Before all that stupid DLC thing! Give back the older version of getting nations and there will be a lot more people playing.

Ah, nice to see that other people are against the DLC thing as well. I hated that to be honest.

I really hope there will be Free-For-All battles in Rome 2. That was incredibly fun. And to my knowledge, Rome:TW was the only one which had that.

Ah im so looking forward. The latest TWs have been boring. Though Shogun 2 was good. (Until they wreaked it with FOTS).

I am so fricking tired of "Rifle Total War". Its really really boring.

I hope they manage to reincarnate the epicness of Rome I.

I really never liked RTW, but I enjoyed NTW and ETW.  I played MTW (medieval total war) for a while, and I liked it.

I diddnt like MTW because it was such a pain to start out with 15 settlements. I like starting with like 1-4 settlements.

MTW2 or 1? Number 2 was best, especially having the pope call crusades on you or starting as Scotland, and taking over the whole of Europe :). Oh, yes and the epic soundtracks to go with it...

MTW II. It was just to many settlements to keep a hold of. But that was like 2 years ago, maybe i like it more now.

Not all the factions started off with that many...maybe you only used the holy roman empire :p

Ooh, they're making a sequel? Neat! Hopefully it'll be good enough to surpass the first game with the Roma Surrectum II mod.
