I haven't been able to find any whatsoever in my vanilla campaign, and I've been playing this save for a long time.  Long enough to capture 4 Onslaughts from the Defense fleet without save scumming.  I know they spawned in the stations in the previous version.  Anyone seeing them spawn in any of the shops or is this an issue with the current version?

afaik they're random drops from the Hegemony supply convoy

so either kill+loot them or wait till they dock and check the station I guess

I've never actually attacked that convoy, will try that.

all I know is they aren't here in the beginning

all the fleets have a chance to add gauss cannons to their stations, its jut not very likely to happen. the only reliable source of them is the Elite onslaught in the system defense fleet.

Hmm, I've never seen an Elite variant in the defense fleet.  They are always the Standard variant.

I get random shortages too. First game, mjolnir shortage. Second game, gauss, same as you. This game, no single sabots, but I do have several gauss cannons, some at Tri-Tach and some at the pirate base.
