Replace the existing large ballistics with energy too so you can have four Paladins!

... unique onslaught with gigacanons would be both hilarious, and an utter downgrade :D. Now I want them in game somewhere!

With gigacannons and large energies. 5 gigacannons worth of fire isn't a lot, but they're also cheap as hell to fire.

Any builds out there that make effective use of the giga? Maybe next patch?

I think Champion works

You can also use it on a Paragon probably, with Tachyon Lances

edit: can we buff Missile Autoloader to give slightly more points if the ship meets requirements? Smaller missile launchers are generally weaker than larger ones. So it doesn't really pay off to use it. For example on a Paragon the missile autoloader doesn't make much sense. You're better off just grabbing Expanded Missile Racks and then replacing the universal slots

Please?

isn't the entire point of autoloader to be better in the selection of ships that just can't make effective use of EMR?

If it ever happens it could be the onslaught Andrada might had once commandeered. Its TPC is a likely possible reason for them to be fond of energy weapons and well if he used it then it is pretty much the equivalent of a "sacred relic" for the diktat making it likely that they might have ended up spending much time and money trying to upgrade the ship into a Wunderwaffe worthy for their leader to commandeer again for the glory of the diktat.

Or maybe i am just being silly.

Executors with double gigacannons work very well. Build it for max range and pair it with IR autolance and hypervelocity drivers

As a bit of an aside, is there any chance of the three doctrine stats being rebalanced? Right now, anything other than Officers/ShipQuality/NumShips = 5/1/1 seems like a newbie trap, on the basis that the latter two are fundamentally not useful. Having more, weaker ships spreads the officers a fleet has thinner, making fights take longer but generally go worse. Ship quality is completely invalidated by a good nanoforge, but isn't especially beneficial even if you don't have one.

If only ship quality doctrine started putting S-mods into the mix with a high enough investment
