Nah, just trying to fully seduce Alex into making that Scythian.  :)
Anyways considering this is not the proper thread to talk about this i would just cap it off with saying that the hypothetical Scythian using some sort of movement system to exploit the pilum catapult initial stage to ''Fling them'' forwards would be cool.

Nothing you could think of would surpass a Venture MK II both in its cheapness and utility as a logistics ship.

"Flux is also used for shields, and the ship needs to have at least half-decent shields, so the primary reason is just to keep the “shield flux per damage” number looking reasonably normal."

Why add a complicated "double flux for energy weapons" effect when you could just raise shield efficiency to 0.4? I don't think a simple 0.4 number looks less normal than reading a complicated effect on top of another already complicated effect, making it appear double nerfed and complicating mental calculations. And lore wise, just write that this ship specializes in the use of hyper flux efficient weapons and shields.

Wouldn't 0.4 be busted with hardened shields?

0.4 with hardened shields is uhhh 0.34, like it would be an increase but no it would only be as big of an increase as with any ship that got hardened shield.

Hardened shields is always a ~15% durability increase.

There will definitely be a very different endgame-level threat! And, in fact, one where PD is particularly valuable.
More valuable than with the [VERY REDACTED]'s system, where PD against it is more of a pipe dream than anything?

Actually HS reduces damage taken to 4/5ths, which means it increases the durability to 5/4ths of the original value, or a 25% increase. But it is correct that it always increases shield durability this much, thanks to being a multiplicative modifier.

Hate to be that person, but if you wanted a divine beetle themed name you could have used "Khepri" :3

Anyway, woo more temporal shell ships! One of my favorite ship systems, it has all the fun parts of phase and non-phase ships.

Not if the ship doesn't have the flux stats to support it. Low flux, high shield efficiency means offensive options are limited to flux efficient options i.e Paladin.

Oh, nice!

It'd be .3, which is just unusually low, since right now it's .6 (but, ok, you could handwave that, sure) but the other point is this would mean you have to reduce the flux stats further to get the same effect, which would also affect any ballistic weapons on the ship.

Hate to be that person, but if you wanted a divine beetle themed name you could have used "Khepri" :3

Anyway, woo more temporal shell ships! One of my favorite ship systems, it has all the fun parts of phase and non-phase ships.

Oh, that's a neat name! Didn't know about that one. Still digging Anubis though, it just sounds cool to me :)

The main character of a certain popular webnovel gets dubbed that at the end, so Khepri is a bit more widely known on English-speaking forums than you might expect.
