If you want a pirate Paragon just sell the bp to the black market. Wouldn't make sense for the top-tier capital in the TT arsenal to be stolen/captured en masse and adapted to the pirate MO, especially considering pirate fleets - a single Paragon can easily, with some minor support to watch the flanks, chew through multiple pirate fleets

I have some ideas but can't sprite worth a damn and the ideas imply really involved stuff which I've no clue how to even tackle.

I uh... usually do that. Makes it easy to get good hulls for cheap.
Still, the main idea here is a variant with significant changes, like what the Executor is to the Pegasus. At least make it red in places.

It would be extra sprite work but a unique pirate Paragon as Kanta’s flagship would be quite fun. Front Large hard points would be Large Missiles, Large Turrets would be Ballistics, and instead of Fortress Shield it would have Accelerated Ammo Feeder. It wouldn’t have Advanced Targeting Core but it would have built-in Ballistics Rangefinder. Flux stats and OP would remain unchanged. All other mounts (except the Medium Universals) would be turned into Ballistics. It would also have an additional 250 base armor (1750).

As a unique “boss” ship, it could be intentionally a little over-tuned. Whether the player can salvage might the biggest question.

I like to see P versions of all the ships whose blueprints are available and make it so that when player sells a blueprint to pirates (via black market), they unlock more P blueprints.  For example, selling Paragon blueprint gives Paragon-P to pirates.  Onslaught or Onslaught XIV blueprint makes pirates produce Onslaught-P.

...but why would Pirates make "worse" P-ship variants when they can just make the originals? The idea is that they currently lack access to these blueprints, that's why they have to improvise and make silly things like Atlas Mk.2.

P-variants aren't "worse", nor are they separate blueprints from the original (at least, as far as the story goes). the pirates start with a normal ship and then manually refit it to suit their purposes.

the ships they tend to refit though tend to be common. They don't refit stuff like Conquests, cause rarely ever do they get a Conquest. But we could add a piece of lore saying that the Renegade is actually some old timey piece of junk that could be refit for war. Not in an Invictus sort of way but more like a Gremlin or Grendel... It's just that no one thought about it yet?

starsector vanilla overhaul, play it while it's hot. Or before 0.98 patch comes out, I guess

Some pirate ships are cheaper and inferior versions compared to standard (Wolf, phase ships)
Some pirate ships are identical to standard aside from paint job (Vanguard, Enforcer, maybe others)
Some pirate ships are significantly or heavily modified from standard, ranging from different system (Eradicator) to overhaul (Falcon, Atlas)

When d-mods were added to the game, pirates were supposed to be fodder who used inferior junk.  In later releases, pirates shifted from cheap junkers to evil hackers or artificers that churn out crazy modifications to whatever they use.  Every new P ship we get in recent releases is either a reskin or heavily modified version of the ship, no more cheap inferior versions of ships like Sunder with no large mount or original Falcon (aside from rusty skin) that did not have small turrets ahead of the mediums.

It'd be nice to see that reconciled. Maybe have the 'outright worse' ships be rebranded as export models that everyone (player included) has access to by default, and have pirates stop using them if they get a blueprint.

Red piragon that trade all of it small and large energy slots for medium synergy and fortress shield for mobility system.

A pirate Paragon could have a shockwave weapon system replacing Fortress Shield.

Or... it could have a siege system acting like Lidar Array system or Targeting Supercomputer hullmod for more range, so heavy beams can act like old 2500 base range tachyon lances and snipe at things beyond fog-of-war range.

Paragon with old lances did not need to be fast when it could snipe at things almost halfway across the map almost instantly.
