Minor addition to ship refit feature?

Hi there!

I believe Alex mentioned somewhere that during ship refitting, you can actually opt to give them extra flux vents/capacitors instead of more powerful weapons. My suggestion is simple, ie. to spend Ordnance Points on extra ammunition for weapons that have a loader (like cannons). I'm not sure if this will clash with current game balance, or future ones (I read somewhere about Resupply Drones), but as game creator it is for you to decide if it will or not. I am only putting this forward as an idea. ;)

I like the idea - something similar is actually planned :)

Instead of managing it per-weapon (which might get a bit tedious), though, I'm thinking it'll be a hull modification - called, say "Expanded Magazine" to double all ballistic ammo, or "Expanded Missile Racks" for missile ammo. With the hull modification costing some amount of OP.

That sounds awesome, it's something to look forward to. =)

What are you planning so far balance-wise? Ordnance Points costs by weapon slots (and thus per ship basis) or by individual weapon types (recalculated depending on what's mounted)?

A ship hull will have a maximum number of OPs. Weapons, hull mods, and extra flux vents/capacitors will cost OPs and the loadout will have to come in at or below that number.

As I recall, some skill perks can increase the number of OPs, right?

Can we also have a per-mount ammo-increasing hull modification? It would be nice because then you could pay only a few OPs vs. a lot of OPs, letting you selectively increase your ammo. After a certain point though it would be more economical to go with a ship-wide modification rather than individual turrets.
