Rock Paper Sissors

Any chance of a quick rock-paper-sissors chart showing what (all things being equal) ships should beat what?  Obviously given how the game works all things are never equal, but it would be nice to know, for example whether I should be sending drones, or interceptors, or heavy fighters to face enemy interceptors for example.

Likewise in the codex it would be nice in addition to the flavour text to have a 'tips' underneath giving very basic 'this is a battleship, use it to go toe to toe with the enemy', 'this is a frigate, use it to protect the flanks of your capital ships', 'this is a carrier, do not put it in direct combat' kind of advice.

Rule of thumb: capital ships > cruisers > destroyers > frigates > heavy fighters > interceptors > bombers > capital ships.

It's more of a guideline than a rule, though. Different variants within each class have different specialisations which may be better suited to engaging larger or smaller craft; for example, point defence vessels are especially well suited to engaging fighters and bombers, but have a hard time against anything else. On the other hand, anything with strike weapons such as torpedoes poses a major threat to large, slow moving vessels.

I think an in-game explanation of the various types and roles (for example "close support" versus "fire support", and "heavy fighter" versus "interceptor") and the relative strengths and weaknesses of each will be necessary at some point. Given that the developers have already described them and are using consistent terminology, I'm confident that this is somewhere on their long list of things to do.
