The only duplicates I have in my fleet tend to be 2 Aurora (one of which I use), 2 Fantasma from the Exalted mod which is a carrier cruiser, and 2 Afflictor (P) to escort the NPC Aurora and Radiant. Beyond that, my fleet is pretty diverse.

My fleets are usually composed of 2 or 3 ship classes which i make several exact duplicates of.

I had loads of fun with 20 LP brawlers terrorising the galaxy.

You just need a heavy hitter for stations like a few charons with daggers.

I normally don't like doing any kind of double capital but double Paragon is easy mode. The duo I have right now is absolutely crushing Ordos and even Alpha-cored Radiants are speedbumps. I solo'd the Zigg in the one I pilot and can generally take out a battlestation with minimal support. I mean, it's a Paragon so...duh, but two of them is pretty ridiculous.

I've got three Retributions in a fleet alongside eight omens, four monitors, and a smattering of hammerheads, sunders, a fury and...I think I still have an Apogee in there somewhere.  Haven't loaded that save up in a bit; I've been busy. XD

I prefer to have pairs of the same ship type, so I can have a bigger diversity of ships in my fleet. But never for capitals, which I'll have 2 at most (maybe 3 if I am to pilot an Odyssey), or only one when I'm using the Ziggurat. I'm really not into mono-fleets or stick to only one tech level. The most I had was 5 Eradicators and 3 Monitors, in my fist run.
