The Valkyries. A female dominated independent military power that once occupied many undiscovered worlds and star systems in this sector. They specialize in energy damage ballistics, missiles and artillery, their fleet is very large, and their unconventional battleships numerous. They are a formidable opponent, and should not be taken lightly unless you are confident.

Adds a faction with:
8 Capitals
7 Cruisers
5 Destroyers
5 Frigates
8 Fighter Wings
26 weapons
1 Core Star System, Enigma, located just north east of Yma
4 Portraits (15 with portrait replacer)

This change was made to perhaps fix the issue of linux errors. The change is too minor for a new release, so the version was not updated, but downloads from now on will have this change.

Weapons
1.The on hit effect of the RW-BS Plasma Laser was changed to 20% chance of dealing 100~200 fragmentation damage when hitting a target.

Ships
1.The duration of the Burst Drive is increased by 1s, and the recharge time is doubled.
2.Adjusted the special effect of overload on Fighters.

Others
1.Adapted to 0.97a.
2.Valkyries are hostile to the Luddic Church.

Weapons
1.Two cruise missiles speed 300->200, range 7500->6000. Spectre damage 1500->1200.
2.Heron class carrier built-in weapon Legion Tactical Plasma Launcher, damage 400->250, reload time 6->5 seconds, range 8000->4000, normalized missile existence time, missile structure 100->150

Ships
1.Reset Cherberos textures, fine-tuned others.
2.Nirvana Mk.II deployment points 35->40, ordnance points 160->180, hull integrity 12000->15000, armor rating 1350->1400, flux capacity 11000->13000, maneuverability (acceleration/deceleration) improved, shield flux/damage 1.0->0.8, added Automated Repair Unit as built-in hullmod. Built-in hullmod Cruise Hunter increase damage to cruisers 15%->20%, increase damage to destroyers 10% and 10% increased energy and ballistic weapons range.
3.New mechanism for capital ships: Holy Covenant War Program, providing attribute gains for other ships.

Fighters
1.Decrease the flux attributes of Azgard, Lightning, Firefly, and other fighters.

Others
1.Strengthened Yoshura's fleet.

Translation aids: DeepL, google translate
Base portrait generation: canva
All translations were reviewed for correctness and clarified if they referred to in-game objects. All portraits have gone through modification using (mainly) microsoft paint to fix flaws, overall logic and balance of the images, a process that took between several hours to several days per portrait.

the weeb portraits are not part of the original mod, but I made them.

how they were made:

step 1: get an ai to generate a portrait of a Valkyrie in space


step 2: fix the image with an image editor (in this case, microsoft paint)


step 3: remove background using online tool

stop 4: shrink image to 128x128

each portrait took anywhere from several hours to several days, and altogether took longer than the translation itself. It was my first 'portrait pack', but I hope you guys enjoy it.

in linux the file torpedo Sunfury.png must be named Torpedo_Sunfury.png to avoid a crash

I just released rc5 of the English version. The main differences are smoothening of translations since rc1, but also importantly, the .jar file was edited in order to translate the mission tactical briefings, something I did not realize I had to do before. To retain compatibility I did not recompile the jar file, but rather edited the bytecode, so there should not be any problems. This should be the end of any untranslated parts of the mod, but let me know if any are found.

So they give you a mission to do something and bring them 3 Yoshura capital ships? Is this just poorly translated? I cheated and turned 3 in and that works, but how are players supposed to actually get the ships? (read the codex and that wasnt helpful either....)

they should occasionally be sold on Valkyrian military markets. You can also salvage them from bounties. Currently, as of version 3.2.2, the ships are accepted regardless of their condition and number of d mods. The end reward for the quest should be a special Yoshura capital ship.

you are welcome, although I translated it mainly for myself, because I kind of ran out of mods I wanted to add to a new game and I thought this one looked pretty good, but no one wanted to translate it. I also created the anime portrait replacer add on because of my own taste.

I cannot say I have tried for this mod, but what generally happens if you add faction mods mid game is that their ships and weapons get added but the faction system does not spawn, so although it likely will not break the game, it is not recommended.

Thank you for the response! I tried to load this mod onto a backup of an ongoing save, and it happened exactly how you predicted. I do want to add the following information, however:

I added the faction mod in the middle of a save game. The faction did not spawn naturally, as one would expect, but I colonized a new system and gave the colony to the Valkyrian Battle Maiden faction using the Nexerelin mod. After becoming friendly with the new faction, the special quest spawned in one of the bars despite the market/planet/system not being originally theirs! I could then do the mission to its completion and gain the promised reward.

The quest choice affects the hullmod you get on the special ship. There's no continuation after that.
