For those poor souls who got discouraged by the lack of the tooltips and explanations:
The mod works that way:
1) You add the specific 0 cost hull mod to the ship you want to refit;
2) You may switch between three categories via caps lock;
3) You can disable (by default everything is enabled) the categories with num keys 1,2,3,4 so you should specify range increments, damage type and weapon type
Additional hints:
a) You may not left active only PD or only Non-PD without Ballistic or Energy so these always works in pairs at the very least.
b) There is no sorting for missiles/hybrids/synergy and they are added in every relevant mix, unfortunately. Missiles will appear everywhere.
c) No weapon type sorting is present, so you may not sort out energy projectile weaponry from beams.
d) do not be afraid if you see that every weapon is not installable - it is not a mod error - this means, that you messed up with filters and nothing was left in acceptable range
