A cross sector Conglomerate with its main focus on military services, including armed escort, mercenary, weapons trade. Their service are varied, and most faction within the sector have purchased military service from RigSec. While backed up by various capital ships, the fleet is mainly based on more economical and flexible cruisers and destroyers.

Hi, I ran into an issue in my latest playthrough and I "think" these crashes are related to Rigel Security. I had a crash before during a specific fleet but I'm not sure I can avoid this one. There are RigSec ships in the fleet and the log mentions RigSec so I assume the crash is from this mod, although I'm not super familiar with reading the logs.

I encounter this occasionally as well. I had it happen immediately after a RigSec frigate (the one with the reflector array) reflected back Hurricane MIRV submunitions. My guess is that since the submunitions aren't directly linked to a weapon, GetWeapon() returns null and thus it crashes.

For now I just turn off my MIRVs and try to snipe the frigate before it happens.

How does one go about turning off MIRVs? This mod has now completely broken my save. It is, like you say, the Calcite ship reflecting missile damage back. I don't have a backup save prior to me installing this mod, so I'm no longer able to play it until this is fixed.

I think Epta Consortium had a same issue one destroyer that had ship system with shield reflect misiles and projectiles after jump.

I'm having the exact same issue. Did you find a way around this?

I didn't unfortunately, I just avoided the fight completely.

I think I've found a solution to this issue - well, more of a workaround until the author fixes it. Thought I'd post it here incase anybody else is having the same problem (I did see a thread on Discord with someone else having the same issue with the same error message, so I assume it's a widespread problem).

1) Go into 'Starsector\mods\Rigel_Security - en 0.1\data\hulls' and open ship_data.csv
2) Take a backup of the file before you edit it, if you want to.
3) Under Column E, find each entry of 'RigSec_Rebound' and replace it with any other system that's listed on that sheet. I chose 'RigSec_AssaultJets', but any will do.
4) Hit save. Load your game.

It just replaces the reflective shield system that is causing this crash to happen.

The Reflector shield issue is known and author is looking into it. He mentioned a hotfix is being worked on a few days ago so I'll follow up with him on that. (Though i think he is more adjusting how the reflector works, rather than a mere fix.)

That said, the actual issue with reflector shield, as far as I was able to tell (I looked into it with the author before release) was that it would reflect submunition as the original main munition, not crashing the game. Since it generate the original projectile that hit the field, and shoot it back (instead of normal deflection, the difference being the Rigel Rebound 'fires' the shot again, from the point of impact back at the attacker, as opposed to simply redirect the projectile, which usually means the projectile wont have enough flight time left to actually be bounced back to hit the attacker).

I havent encountered crash with reflector myself, so if you can let me know what exact missile weapon is causing the crash for you all (as for hurricane, I will let the author know), i can let the author know and look into it. Also, let me know if the crash is 100% reproduceable with the weapon, or just happens from time to time.

I would be happy to tell you the exact weapon that caused this, if I knew. What would be the best way to figure this out? I don't think the log file gives anything away from what I can see.

I believe i am experiencing the same error regarding the reflector shield. Ive only kept the last log (below). Which occurred (i believe - im not an expert at deciphering error logs) with an APEX design torp. I may have also experienced it with a UAF torp (likely from a strikecraft)

Both occur at a battle with only RS ships in the opposing fleet. The weird thing is that to the best of my knowledge none of my ships are using apex weaponry, i do have the mod installed and running, but i dont believe im using any of their weapons on my current fleet load. I am running quite a bit of UAF weaponry and strikecraft.

I have also tried the fix above, but to no avail.
