[0.97a] Atlas Mk. III

This isn't really planned to be a mod, but people have asked for the ship files and it's a pain to share them if they aren't on these forums.

Link to the Atlas Mk. III This ship won't appear in markets or NPC fleets.

4th one looking good, kinda shame it won't appear in markets or NPC fleets. It's a bit of a pain to edit CSVs :D

Ah, but that's one of the best things about Starsector right? If you don't like something, change it ha.

If you mean in game, the Reclaimer and Heavy Valkyrie will show up in Independent markets. The Mk. III and Royal Decree are rare blueprints that you have to find and then have them built.

If you mean the files themselves, the "Link to ship" text is clickable and takes you to the download page. The download button is all the way to the right and looks like an arrow pointing down. Should say, "Download raw file" if you hover over it.

That's what I meant, thank you!

Pretty cool ships. 8)
Small suggestion, if I may, for the Reclaimer. If you can change the large missile mount to a 45 degrees angle, like the Apogee, it will probably slightly improve its combat capabilities. Though, you might then want to change the antennas on the right in the same way, if you want some symmetry. Or maybe it might look cooler with the antennas angled downward. :)

Interesting ideas, I'll probably use these in my next run.
May I suggest a small change to the Heavy Valkyrie-making the medium hardpoints visible?

Something like this, maybe?

Came here to perv on your Atlas, went home with a brother in arms:

Good job. Not sure if you're aware but hidden mounts can't be disabled. Sometimes you can work around this by making built in weapons that look like part of the ship or placing a decorative 'weapon' over the top.

Thanks! Well, I tried different orientations and placements for the antenna, but I ended up actually really liking it opposite of the missile mount. With the missile mount, I'm not sure how much a 45 degree angle adjustment would change things. The ship is so slow at turning I doubt you could reliably aim unguided ordnance and I kind of like how the mount snuggles in it's location, like the antenna. I appreciate the ideas though. :)

They look good together! The old valkyrie model is a fun one to build off of.

Yeah, I went with hidden mounts exactly for that reason, and I even explained the reasoning in it's codex entry. Of course, that doesn't mean its a good idea though ha. I know hidden mounts aren't ideal, but I just made it for myself, so I didn't worry about it.  Joebob73's placement of the hardpoints looks really good, so I will definitely change it at some point, especially since people are actually interested in the ship. Thank you both for sharing your feedback. :)

No offense to the original design but this visible hardpoint is much cooler imo, also a cooler name would be awesome too

I personally like the built-in look of the original one. Not many ships that have that, and with some weapons imo a custom built-in look sometimes looks better than seeing the actual weapon on some ships in certain hardpoints etc. that make it seem like the weapons are just thrown on top of the sprite whenever they're frontal facing mounts.
