I'll add that the Executor can at least function with almost any weapon other than a plasma cannon, even if its worse. In one campaign I was doing quests and got one super early and the only 2 large energies I could get were an APL and a Paladin. The Paladin actually worked to protect from frontal missile threats, as crazy as that sounds.

Not exactly a good build, but it steamrolled pirates thats for sure. (I broke my own rule and put efficiency overhaul on it alongside augmented engines. Didn't need the combat power!)

Dual HIL, 5x HVD, 4x IR Autolance, Squalls.  s-mod ATG.  Don't let it get flanked and watch it work.

wow... You know, I have this amazing build for Dominator that replaces Hellbore with Heavy Mortar. I can put spare OP into Hardened Shields, to protect myself from Ion Beam. It's really good at killing Buffalos MKII.

this is a joke, I mean... Guardian is pretty cool. Shame the only ship you can use it on is Paragon (forgot Champion exists), and that is the only ship in the game that can just not give a *** about incoming projectiles.

And it's true that Pegasus lacks PD. It was why it most likely originally had 50 movement speed before being nerfed to be slower than Invictus.

being nerfed to be slower than Invictus.
Technically, it is as fast. Also, to be fair, over half the capitals are slower than the invictus. Invictus is a thick brick but it's got engines to match lol.

well, not really. I lied. Invictus is slower in terms of acceleration, deacceleration, and coffee making abilities. But also it's going to run a lot on 0-flux boost. So, technically it's faster than Astral.

I think this would require different mounts, or different layouts. When you have the combination of L energy with M ballistics, it makes too much sense to use ballistics for shield-breaking and using L energy for anti-armor.

That is a good point. Executor has a bunch of medium ballistics for taking down shields, and HILs are just the best option for shield-cracking. Still:

Quote
- Paladins really need turrets to be attractive... Executor has hardpoints
- APL is a flux-manageable anti-shield weapon. I guess you could use APLs+Maulers+Hurricanes, but HIL+HVD+Squall just seems like a better combo.
- Don't know what Gigacannon does

 - Paladins: I always assumed that was some kind of oversight. The description implies that they can turn hardpoints into turret mounts, and they'd be so much more viable if they could.
 - APL: It's not strictly anti-shield, and can be surprisingly deadly in bursts. With more range, I think it could be okay, in conjunction with advanced turret gyros (which could be taken without advanced optics)
 - Gigacannon: IIRC CapnHector has a video of him using it successfully, with clever repurposing of the forward medium mounts to host pulse lasers. With extra range, still probably not the best loadout, but a lot more forgiving to players who aren't him.

@Bungee_Man - I won't complain if LG ships get a better version of EBC. It's an interesting hullmod and I'm all for build variety.

I especially want it on LG Eagle!
