There seems to be an interaction between this mod's forges and the DEE (Domain Explorarium Expansion) where it thinks automated ship hulls are modules even on ships without modules. Was this intentional? I had my heart set on being a nomadic fleet with automated smelter ships making the metal for my human engineers to make stuff from. QQ;;
this... is interesting.
I cant look into this issue right now, but i will put it on my todo list so i can fix this when i have time. Sorry about the delays, but i will fix this issue later.

did something to fix the issue. hopefully this does not make everything worse. but in testing it seemed fine?

forge production and Industrial.Evolution are very very different mods. they are not comparable.
if you misspelled and meant 'combatable' they are 100% combatable.

I know you're just maintaining this mod, but I wonder if one day we could get a 'Pristine Production Forge' allowing properly efficient Domain-era motherships. That would be very cool. Anyway, thanks for keeping this alive.

hello. im not quite sure what you mean. like a new hullmod, thats the normal one but better? or do you mean, like the ability to produce all the domain era drones like the mothership seems to?
and its no issue. I also use this mod. although I might need to give it a upgrade soon. some mod settings. once im not so busy.

I was thinking just like the normal one with better production ratios, but producing all the domain era drones is an even cooler idea frankly! (Or maybe both? Different hullmods?) Honestly I was just thinking "dang, it's a shame there's only a makeshift forge and no fully repaired version" haha. No rush of course, life marches on, hope it's treating you well.

I hope life has been treating me well as well.
I will have to do some work on this mod eventually. add some things like mod settings, and make the interface easyer to use when you have 10+ ships with a forge production hullmod and what not.
I will keep this conversation in mind when I finally get around to upgrading this mod.
I hope in this game of life, you manage to emerge victorious.

What a fantastic mod that completly changes the way you can play the game. I love the idea of being able to choose to be nomadic instead of bolted to a colony planet somewhere. I really hope this is considered for inclusion into the base game.

My only feedback so far is: The hullmods for production should not just come domain era motherships in my opinion. Ultimately the whole idea of this mod is that it adds another way to play the game. So we should see Independant fleets with 'self production' ships in their fleet and we should be able to loot or buy hullmods everywhere the game normally gives them to players as this is a 'part of life' within the game world. I undersand why the choice was made to make it 'you can get this capability from domain era hunts' as a way to expand end game but i feel this would be so much cooler to allow the player to select this style of gameplay from the begining (or as soon as they can obtain the hullmods, just as you would with logistics mods normally).

right now, such an expansion is past any plans of what I desire to upgrade about this mod. but some things you talked about here are kinda cool. I will consider them at a later date.
as for starting with forge production, you can go into the mod folder, open the 'forge_production_settings.ini' file, and change "enable_feature_unlock_at_start":false to "enable_feature_unlock_at_start":true
I will need to add a in game mod settings to this at some point when I have time. but thats for later.
