Made a fresh install, the game even asked for my product key which I can't remember it asking for past, what 6 years?

"Fatal: Error initializing music source - AL error 40964 Check starsector.log for more info"

I'll try to disable audio devices to see if I can work around this issue. Is there any option to even change the audio device? Couldn't find a settings file for that.

Yeah, it's my external audio device that's causing the issue. I'd need to use it because my headset doesn't work with anything else.

Hmm. I think someone resolve a similar issue (or, at least the same OpenAL error code) by updating their sound drivers:

No idea if that would work in your specific situation, though!

Just updated to the 0.97a build and now I'm getting this error message as well.  If I turn off Sound on launch, the game will launch, or if I unplug the dongle for my wireless headphones, the game will launch, but if I try to launch the game with the dongle plugged in, I get the error.  Launching the game without the dongle and then plugging the dongle back in does not correctly transfer the sound output to the new device.  There is no option to re-enable sound if you didn't have it on to start.  My HyperX Cloud II headphones already use a generic usb audio device driver, so there are no updates available for it.  I used to play this 2 years ago on an earlier build using this same headset without issue and I really don't want to have to use my laptop speakers for the audio.  Is there anything else I can do here?

Hi - sorry about the trouble! Ah, my apologies, I'm not sure what else you might try here, unfortunately.
