Minimap UI and Active Sensor Burst
« on: February 04, 2024, 11:00:36 PM »

If I'm reading the current minimap UI right, that rectangle around the center of the minimap is your sensor range. Assuming this is correct, why not make it more obvious with an effect going off when active sensor burst (ACB) is used? While ACB is active, have the minimap rectangle expand outward, as your range is increasing. It doesn't matter if it goes beyond the minimap's borders. It's just a small effective that can be useful for recognizing what the rectangle is.

And maybe it'll make it not take 3 years for someone like me to recognize what it's for.

the rectangle is the game's viewport (what's actually on-screen), not your sensor range
though yeah, a more obvious "this is your current sensor range" would be v nice to have on the minimap

What would be point of a mini-map, if it only displays what you already can see on the screen?

I can't wait to get curb-stomped.

(Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this.)

the minimap's range is much larger than the viewport's roam range, even when you're zoomed out as far as possible
