I wanted to follow up and say the issue was having the phase anchor on my prowler. not sure how it got one.

The Prowler is having a bad day. Give him/her/it a rest until the next patch comes out. I've actually never seen that issue before, I'll address it next patch. You see, the Prowler is suppose to be a stealth ship with phase systems, but I haven't managed to make it work yet and since there were no crashes before, I just let it be.

Both UNSC and Covenant need to be whacked with a nerf bat, especially their insane bays. Even for 45-55 OP those escort frigates have capital grade armor and firepower. Also, I'm not positive on this, but I'm pretty sure the AI has a very hard time dealing with ultra powerful wings because they tend to prioritize engaging with PD weapons and don't realize they need to apply actual big guns. So try not to do that.

IMO, UNSC should be balanced using low tech ships as a baseline, and Covenant should be balanced using high tech. Differences in their stuff between Starsector aside, that's roughly the sort of dynamic they have going.

Simply go to settings.json and change the version of the mod from 0.97 RC10 or whatever to 0.96 RC whatever. The mod should still work as intended.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand what you're talking about. Next patch, frigate wings will be removed an replaced with a reinforcement subsystem like how the Star Wars mod does it, and I'll remove fighter bays from essentially cruisers down. I've just been busy making custom stations which is a pain and will all be released next patch.

I've noticed this already and other loud weapons like MACs and some Ancient weapons will be softened. Next patch will address much of this.

- 0.6.0 (not save compatible)
UNSC: nerfed fighter nuclear missile, nerfed MAC cooldowns, and reduced decibel level for some weapons (let me know if some guns are still too loud).
The Prowler now phases as intended.

Ancients: softened and deepened sounds of weapons.
 
Covenant: downsized COV fighter sizes, reduced decibel of fuel rod firing.


Fighter bays: removed fighter bays from most non-carriers, especially those smaller than cruiser-sized, reduced number of bays on almost all ships.
Reduced wing size of some UNSC LPCs, removed shield from Longsword and Baselard.
 
Shipsystems: removed frigate wings and UNSC and Covenant capitals now summon vessels instead with a lengthy cooldown. AI currently uses this pretty inefficiently.
Added some "intersting" sounds upon activating.

Stations: UNSC and Covenant stations, Covenant shield drones for stations, UNSC ODPs for stations (these are likely still quite strong, feedback appreciated).

Planets: Significantly reduced Covenant world sizes (finally), increased UNSC world sizes slightly.

Descriptions: OMG they're not falling off the screen now?! Yeah, these are much more user friendly now.

Other things I've forgotten.

Nerfed "hero" ship fighter bays more. Shouldn't cause crashes (I hope).

Properly blacklisted built-in weapons from markets, and drops.
Added descriptions for missing ships and weapons, and when docking on planets (mostly Ancients).

Great mod! I especially enjoy the missile spam, however, is there a way to remove the "spool" time of the Goalkeeper CIWS? It makes the PD very inconsistent when dealing with very fast/phase fighters/bombers wings. I was able to locate and edit the UNSC_GoalkeeperSpool.java file but I don't know what line of code to change exactly. Thanks!

Can you teach me how to remove the spool? This is for personal use only as I'm trying to make it look like space combat from "The Expanse".

Balance right now in terms of Ship-to-Ship combat with UNSC vs Covenant fleets is good already. I just want to experiment with the CIWS to make it more responsive versus phase fighters and superfast torpedoes from other mods. Thanks!
