So I'm a big table top RPGer (been playing D&D since 1978) and I have been looking at starting a new group with a Traveller game, which is a sci-fi setting that's been around almost as long as D&D has.

I'm not a huge fan of the actual universe that is the official setting for Traveller though, and I think I want to start writing some source material for a game, using the setting in Starsector with the lore, factions and tech from the game.

So, before I do:
1. I don't want to step on any copyright toes. May I have your permission?
2. I usually write out a fair bit of my material. If I publish any of it, would be ok with some percentage of any $$ it makes? I'm not saying it will, but I'd rather ask permission first.

Any other RPGers out there?

PMing alex or one of  the mods would be the thing to do. However, if you are keeping this source material unpublished, I don't think anyone would have any problems.

Basically this, yeah - you're absolutely free and welcome to do this for private use, but not for publishing.

Thanks, I don't have any plans to publish, but if someone asks, I'll let you know and let either veto it, or we can work an arrangement for both IP and potential cashflow.
