Officer Extension - The OP Fork
 

Adds the ability to increase level and elite skills cap of individual officer by spending storypoints.

Cannot be used alongside the original OE since this is a fork, not a true addon.
And as you can see this is an complete ripoff of OE, even the forum formatting is a ripoff...

Again, please make sure you either REMOVE your original version of OE when using this, or use SMOL to manage the versions to prevent issues





Features:

Increase Officer Level Cap
  • Increase the level cap of an individual officer.
  • Costs the current maximum level of the officer in SP, unmodified this would be 5 for normal officers, and 6 for cyropod officers.
  • Disregards the officer's current level when increasing level cap as of now, so everyone starts at 5/6 even if their current level is 6+.
  • Can only be done when your officer is already at maximum level.

Increase Officer Elite Skills Cap
  • Increase the cap on elite skills of an individual officer.
  • Costs the current maximum elite skills of the officer in SP, unmodified this would be 1 for normal officers, and 4 for cyropod officers.
  • Disregards the officer's number of elite skills when increasing level cap as of now, so everyone starts at 1/4 even if they got more elite skills.
  • Can only be done when your officer is already at maximum level.

Known Issues:

Try To Avoid These
  • If you take the skill that increases officer max level AFTER you increases someone's max level to 14 or w/e level that learns all the skills, their actual max level will become 15 and the level-up button will forever haunt you. I can't fix it unless I actually manage to learn reflections, which is pretty much impossible..

Version History:

How It Came To Be

R.03:
- I promise I have tested the version files this time and it FINALLY WORKS!

R.02:
- Officers now have to be at max level before you can increase elite skills cap - mostly for cleaner UI.
- Fixed a crash due to incorrect version formats.

R.01:
- Added the button to increase officer elite skills cap, also at the expense of story points.
- Removed the arbitrary level cap as I devised a way to dynamically figure out if officers can still level up.

R.00:
- Initial release.

Underrated mod!
I enjoy using this, it's a mod that even if it claims it is overpowered, at the end of the day, you will be limited by your story points count; so, unless you console commands a bunch of story points, usually you'll end up upgrading a single officer maybe two or three times over the lvl cap.

Let's say you start with a level 6 officer (because you already have the tier 3 leadership skill), if you want to make one officer level 8 you'll need 13 story points (6+7).

So, all things considered, it's a much less overpowered mod to choose over, for example, the "take no prisoner" mod or other mods that let you "steal" high level officers. And a good option if you want a level 7 officer without having no luck finding one of the 4 hidden somewhere in the sector.

Thank you so much for making this mod, it is a must stay in my mod list.
