Multiple QoL changes

1. Make it possible to go over the ordnance point limit in the refitting screen. If you leave the screen while over the limit, changes don't save

2. Allow the player to see the radius around enemy fleet in which their allies can join

3. Incorporate the autosave mod into the base game, please

4. Arms dealer & historian should become contacts once you talk with them. Imagine a space captain with a big fleet spending months or years of his life just flying between bars on different planets in hope of stumbling into some dude

5. Make it possible to browse markets as long as you are within a comms relay broadcasting distance, just to see what's there. Same reason as above

6. Allow the player to arrange the formation when deploying ships

7. Make the combat sim have 1 balanced variant of every non-spoiler ship hull in the game instead of what it has now, with Remnant ships getting added as they are encountered

I second each of these suggestions, except point #4. I think you should have the OPTION of adding them to your contacts, and it should cost a story point for the convenience.

Arms Dealer already has a chance of being a (pirate) contact after buying something from him.

Historian does not make sense as a contact since he seems to be a traveling archaeologist like Indiana Jones.

Not a fan of auto-save if forced, more so here since saving freezes everything for several seconds.

Possibly.  The main reason for me to get a contact out of him would be to do missions and grind up pirate rep if I wanted an easier way to gain rep than hover around pirate worlds for survey or scan missions.  I do not remember if he offers more sales at least some of the time.

Making a contact out of someone puts him on the bulletin board with all the other base personnel are found, so you would check there for your contact instead of the bar.  If historian still moved around, you need to find him as before.
