I want to create a mod that functions similarly to console galaxy, however i find it's Explore all command to be extremely basic, not even revealing system map data, to the point you can't even access the said screen.
I wanted to make an offshoot similar to that but with the ability to individually search for Debris Fields, Research Stations, Domain-Era probes etc. But not only individually, i'd also like a single command to function just like Console Galaxy's exploreall command but rather than just giving planet data i want it to ACTUALLY explore everything, so if i used something like captains log all relevant information would be viewable there.
The reason i want to do this is because not only would it helps others looking for specific entities but also so i can better understand spawn placement, since i think being able to visually distinguish where say for example a Legion XIV would spawn you could correlate that across playthroughs so you could look in places where it's more likely to be, rather than flying around on a goosechase to find them. But perhaps sector generation is more complex than that, it things like these are incredibly randomised.
However, if someone could point me in the right direction so i can look at the vanilla code so i can better understand the way entity spawn generation is handled, that'd be appreciated.
ALSO i forgot to mention that i am very new to modding and i found the starsector wiki intro to modding to be not what i was looking for since i'm not interested in making custom ships and sprites etc, so i mostly skipped over it.
