I want this. Especially since I'm shooting small-frigate sized shipbuster missiles, why couldn't I strap on some point defenses or even a shield to ensure that my missiles survive to reach my target? This idea can give rise to ships whose sole purpose is to just survive long enough to kamikaze their targets.

Though I can imagine the supplies being eaten when rebuilding them.

I'm actually confused as to the negative response to the OP. Could he mean ships that shoot disposable drone carriers which spawn a limited amount of small drones that act as a nasty distraction for a target ship?
