Changing mod version to current game version

I was wondering if anyone could tell me in detail how to change the mod "Supply forging" (that is in version 0.95.1 a) to the current version "0.96a-RC9" as I am a complete noob at going through and changing any game/mod files.

The mod's file will have a mod_info file in it. Open the mod info and change the game version to the current patch. Do be aware that this may result in crashes and other instabilities so do at your own risk.
