.... My point is that by starting TTSC as aligned to Tri-Tac is lore correct as they are a sub-faction of Tri-Tac. However, I leave it up to the player whether or not they want to keep it that way. In your request, it takes that option away from the player which I have strong feelings about.

Sooo, TLDR, I only ask why?
Well, personally I'd say it just looks a bit... odd, to say the least, when they're in different alliances and go to war with each other.
Very messy and chaotic. It is a bit funny though.

You could always just make it a Lunalib On/Off toggle (defaulted to Off) and leave it up to the player to decide if they start allied or leave it to RNG.

That's just my opinion though.
Hello Oni thanks for weighing in. The way I see it is that Tri-Tac is an exploitive corporation weakened by their losses during the AI wars. If Hegemony or the Church get wind of them building up a new navy they would be quite upset. This way TTSC can be their own thing and give Tri-Tac plausible deniability. This is how real world corporations do things instead of forming a conglomerate; they stay separate to limit liability. I agree it can get chaotic and as you say, a bit funny, but that is how I would see them relating to each other.

IDK, I guess I am in the minority here but you make a good point of an on/off button which I would have to look into. I have not incorporated any of my mods with lunalib so I would have to do some research and frankly my skill is pretty low so no promises.

WOW that is quite the compliment, thank you so much! I do take breaks from the game but even after all the years I have played it I still get pulled back in and I am happy to provide content that enhances a player's enjoyment.
Enjoy!
No, my fren, thank you!  I'm real picky on the mods I install---possibly due either to traumatic experiences back in my TES phase (Skyrim never did work quite right with all of my desired mods enabled, curse it) causing a general fear of glitches & crashes, or else to a general low tolerance for OP ships / factions / other such jarring stuff---so for a long time, I had only four mods installed:  Nex, Kazeron, Ko Combine, and... this one!  Hell, even now, I've only got like... ten, in total; heh...

...but that's about to change, because somehow I did not realize that you've got another Tri-Tach mod!  And what's this Carter's Freetraders thing?  Oh, man, how did I miss these?!

Sooo, TLDR, I only ask why?
It deeply pains me---feels wrong, just wrong!---to contradict Lord Dazs, but:  I might lean toward the other side too, on this 'un.  I.e.:  it does seem, t'me, that TT & TTSC should be closely allied / in the same bloc at (almost) all times; I feel like it ought to take a lot to get them at each other's throats.

That said, I'm not so sure it should be impossible to split up the happy couple, either---as you say: less player agency, that way---and I believe you already do have it set so that they're more-than-usually fond of each other (i.e., as compared to any two unrelated factions), right?

At least, they almost always end up sticking together in my games, AFAICR.  Maybe just kick those relationship bonuses up a bit more, and then everyone's happy...?

(Well, I'm happy either way, really---esp. 'cause I've got two new faction mods to try...  8) Question: y'know that mod that adds more high-tech ships?  I've been considering it, in order to give my beloved corpo friends more ship-options... but since I'll be using TTSC and now also the TT-Xpac, think it'd sort of be overkill?)

*Blush* well we can be thankful for each other then :) I am an enjoyer of many mods myself. I actually lean more toward the low tech aesthetic even though I have three high tech focused mods heh. As to OP, I do get commentary regarding my mods, JYD and CFT though I have balanced them over the years I just figured I would let you know if you plan to try them.

Well If you look at the end of my message I have links to all my mods, you can just click them and it will take you to their mod page.

Lord lol you flatter me, I am just an old guy that enjoys games like this. TT and TTSC start off allied, I cannot make them closer. They also have the same political stance so in theory they should remain allied though a game. The issue stems from Nexerelin tossing random events that effect faction relationships and if you get too many of them it could take them out of alignment. If you are playing as either faction, you can counter that by doing missions that increase rep to the offended faction.

As I stated above, they start off as closley related as two factions can be.

Well there are several high tech faction mods but whether you enjoy them or not is subjective and I am hesitant to toss out recommendations. However, I would recommend HTE: https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=30075.0 if you are only looking for more high tech ships but you want to limit your factions installed as it just adds ships.

What a nice message to wake up to, I enjoyed it as much as my morning coffee :) Thank you!
