Hello, I've been getting an error when i try to enter the silence starsystem from the knights of ludd mod, so i asked on discord about it, and the people there told me to get to the fleet journal forum and check.https://uploadnow.io/s/bf4d353f-cca4-4701-a108-f502f5431cb4    thats log and this the error https://uploadnow.io/s/1c7f974b-426c-4c20-ae35-64f16bcbd96f?o=t. Thanks everyone for your helpful reports. Present update should hopefully resolve majority of the crashes - if more errors appear, please post stack traces here.

Updated to 1.1.3: save-compatible.
  • Additional error catching for orbit NPEs and class cast exceptions pertaining to makeDoubleWithSameOrbit().

getting a ctd when i try to open the fleet log.

Fatal: Cannot invoke "com.fs.starfarer.ui.o0O0highlight()*" because the
return value of "com.fs.starfarer.campaign.comms.v2.oOOO.getButton()*"
is null

*not actually (), but was a 0 that was taller and thinner than a 0

is this something that can be fixed, or do i gotta load my backup from several days ago to continue playing this save?

I am at a loss as to what could be causing this; to pinpoint the issue I would need:

  • Full crash stack trace.
  • Steps to reliably reproduce the crash.
  • Optionally: full mod list.

to recreate it, simply bring up the intel menu and click on fleet log. insta crash. i THINK this is the relevent part of the starsector log. as is, i had a backup save from a few years before which seems to have avoided this issue. so for me, its merely academic at this point. but if it is of any use to you i hope it helps prevent future issues. if you need my mod list i can get it for ya, but it is pretty extensive.

Hey, pretty sure I'm having the same issue as Stormy. Game crashes when I try to open fleet log, I had been using it for a long time before with no issues, no idea what happened. Here's the relevant crash log

Thanks for the mod!

EDIT: it seems to be related to the Nexerelin Midnight Dissonant questline maybe? I loaded a save just before the quest where you have to tail a hegemony fleet and had no issues, then halfway through tailing the fleet I started crashing as soon as I opened the fleet log tab on the intel menu.

i can halfway confirm this. the save that got borked did that questline. and in my other save the fleet log works i havent. might be some other factor at play, but thought i would confirm similar circumstances in case it helps.

Considering the nature of this crash and looking at the stack trace, I'm afraid I won't be dedicating the time to fix this.

  • The stack trace doesn't have any lines specifically from my codebase, so there's easy place to start in the code.
  • Reproduction behaviour is not entirely clear - all that I understand is that some questline from Nexelerin is likely to blame.
  • I don't have much free time (or desire) to install Nexelerin and go look for said questline in order to pinpoint the crash circumstance myself.

While it's possible to ascertain the nature of the problem with some time investment, I'm sorry to say I cannot afford it. Seems like players would have to either play without Fleet Journal, or just avoid that strange questline going forward.

Crash to desktop due to NullPointerException when switching to the Fleet Log tab from the New tab whilst a recently written entry is selected.

The "fleet log" crash also happens after/during player invasion of a market with Nex.

With the release of 0.98 this mod has lost a lot of its utility, and due to this, as well as my personal reasons, I will not be maintaining this project moving forward.

I hereby proclaim this project a public asset; anyone is free to grab code, icons, or anything else they wish from here and utilize it in their work, provided it does not violate Alex's guidelines. Anyone is free to pick this mod up and continue development and maintenance in a way they see fit.

I want to thank Alex and the Starsector community at large, participating in which by way of modding gave me many happy hours of creating stuff. Thank you.
