It's kind of weird how every fleet has kill on sight orders especially trade fleets that will fight other trade fleets to the death, like your job is to haul food to Coatl not wage war and seeing fleets throw themselves at my fleet just because they think they have a fighting chance never made sense to me. Obviously this more desperate/reckless behaviour makes sense for certain factions such as the Luddic Path or Pirates but if I'm just travelling to a planet and a hostile fleet of equal strength encounters mine I don't think they should immediately try to pick a fight. Then again this sort of more aggressive behaviour makes sense if I am in their capital system giving them a lot of incentive to stop me even if the odds aren't entirely in their favour.
