A properly managed Onslaught will wipe out a properly managed Paragon every time.  It's a simple matter of kinetic damage and extreme range.  Both ships sit at max firing distance with shields up.    The Paragon can fire it's Lance's which dissipate easily against an Onslaught's shields, and will not be disabling any weapons while the shields are up.  The Onslaught on the other hand is hitting the paragon with 3 Mark IX autocannons and likely 3 med autocannons, due to how much more range they have over the heavy blasters.  The Paragon's flux will be maxxed very fast if it raises shields and it will be taking withering damage to the hull if it doesn't.  Once it's shields can no longer be maintained it will probably die in one vent cycle/overload because of how much HE damage and Onslaught can do.

It's not really even a challenge if you keep the paragon at range.

Yeah, sorry about that. It was funnier in my head?
Haha no worries. Wasn't really you I was aiming for. This thread in general was trending towards less niceness than is typical of our little community.

Well said. Very well said. At the risk of sounding elitist, I'd say that we are too good for that kind of stuff.

There is something called middle ground man
No, but it is very importants, especially against ships with beam weaponry
Now you are just revealing yourself as an idiot

Please don't continue this.

Weren't you the impetus for this whole fiasco in the first place?

Maybe we should make a ban on certain words. Like stupid, idiot, etc. Instead we could use dripping sarcasm in place of insulting comments. So like instead of stupid you could just say you are very, very smart. Then at least I could ignore it.

Catra is not a troll. He's very obstinate, but I don't think he's out to be dickish. Let's not get into forum slap fights please.
Im not so sure about that, he doesn't seem to care much about the discussion past it's semantics, but then jumps in with "umadbro" and other reaction memes that a certain demographic loves to repeat. Not to mention the apophasis, not backed up even when the excuse had been removed. It reeks of troll, i could be wrong though. Quick, the forums need to be saved from further slap fighting by a big hug, proceed to hug your monitor now Catra.

You have a divine intellect that mere mortals cannot comprehend; a power to discern the terrible truth behind this pale existence.  Were you to reveal that knowledge earth and sky are torn asunder in a flash of light and fury, never to exist again! I am cowed in terror that I should ever have thought otherwise of your revelations on the TRUTH of [insert topic here].

That kinda thing? Cause I could totally get behind doing that to people.

Topic derailed.

Go into battle realising that the huge battle beforehand has left the valkyrie you boarded the only ship with enough crew. It has one IR Pulse Laser. You face down a Pirate Armada (1 Dominator, 2/3 Enforcers, 2 Condors, 3 Talons, 2 Piranhas, 2 hounds).

Such fury has not been felt since falling into lava... with diamonds. FORTY TWO OF THE LITTLE BLUE THINGS. Such accomplishment after winning though

firstly:

the only time i've used trollese was in this thread, to you, as a joke. i've never used the problem? one. so hyperbole less kkthx. (this is easily confirmed by going to the main page and then doing a search: catra mad or catra problem, all the returns come up clean except for the one here.)

secondly:

find an example where i just barged into a convo whining about meanings.

thirdly:

just what apophasis are you talking about?

seriously dude, you want to come at me, then atleast do it properly and provide links to examples and whatnot.

Things not to do:
ignore your flux bar
ignore missiles
ignore pretty much anything, haha.

Agreed
*anti-flaming system deployed*

things not to do:
accelerating while one engine is flamed-out in a hound you start spinning

Unless it's your only way to dodge incoming missiles. Usually you'll want to accompany this with prayer. :)
