Using the dedicated gpu gets less fps
« on: February 25, 2023, 03:31:06 PM »

Specs:(laptop ideapad 5 14IAL7)
Cpu:Intel i5-1235u
Gpu:Nvidia MX550 2g vram
Ram:16 gb
Refresh rate:60Hz

Background(modded)
I constantly get game freezing but there's action in the background, windows said it's a livekernelevent(141) which I assume the igpu overheating (0 idle) so I changed both the jre/bin/Java and starsector exe to use the mx550 but now i never seem to exceed 15 fps(even when idle 90)in combat and menu(but I think it only happens when there's a ship)

What I already tried:
-updating gpu drivers
-Messing around with nvidia control panel
-v sync off
-Graphicslib off
-Windows compatibility mode
-running in administrator mode
-updating to jre 8
-increasing vmparams from 6144 to 8192

Additional info when using mx550:
-gpu utilization stays at 0%
-gpu usage jumps around from 0ish% to 100% in combat
-Low vram warning(never on igpu)
-vram used around 1.7 GB

Any insight would be helpful
