iirc nexerelin had similar thing, it could be a cool feature, maybe an ability to take over a remnant battlestation and assign your own alpha core to it that could produce remnant ships for you and generate friendly remnant fleets in the system, that if you were found out to be behind, would cause hegemony to hate you? i imagine it could have its own mining fleets with like a remnant version of shepherd that would be really cool.
you could be told of such an option maybe after you put an alpha core as a manager of your colony or maybe you could help an independent alpha core take over such stations for itself in exchange for remnant ships and tech and money?
