cheap(dp) efficient ship?
« on: April 30, 2022, 11:14:37 AM »

hi, what ships are good for their deployment points?

I would like to have an fleet of same ships(or 2 types) with different weapons and roles.(destroyer/cruiser)
for small 200 points

also mod ships are welcome

enforcer is with 9dp  not bad, but is slow and more escort than strike ship

hammerhead is still good...
the new cruiser is also good, but more than 4-5 seems not be that good and breach rockets were nerfed i think

Asking which ships are the most dp efficient amounts to asking what ships are the best. Generally most ships in the destroyer and cruiser class are good decent aside from the high tech and phase ships

Gryphon, when captained by a missile specialist.  Squalls, Harpoon Pods, and Breach racks linked in a single group.  Bring more than one.

Ziggurat flagship with Phase Anchor plus a good weapon loadout and skill selection can solo just about any fleet in the game (even those with Tesseracts), especially if map size is lowered to 200 first.  Ziggurat with Omega weapons can solo double or triple Ordos with several Radiants without too much difficulty.

Why restrict yourself to massing only 1/2 types of ship when your fleet is quickly growing and replacing at that time? The abundance ship hulls are dispersed into different types and methods, and good deals are by random chances with no guarantee that ship is exactly what you desire. They are hard to source individually and intentionally without visiting many markets for many months, unless you do commission and gain a new market access to faction hulls, or hunting and salvage from certain factions and their deserters. You can't consistently pick 2 hulls from bounty until the difficulty quickly rises to capital stack after a few bounties. Plus earlier frigates on that received S-Mod continue to serve well into late game for catching smaller ships and capping points. And S-modded ships are the best bang for the DP used.
Pirate hulls that I would keep for utilities are those with shielded cargo holds, the highest being a buffalo. For combat hull it grew from shrike, manticore | colossus, eradicator, falcon | atlas. Most of them are missile rich and DP lean for its class. As you can see there is no good (P) frigates and they are usually store bought or pristine sensor-package salvage exotic high tech frigates. frigates are needed for auto resolve chase battles.
Enforcer shines latter as bigger ships gets slower that their heavy firepower and armor become useful, before that they are trailing behind and can't contribute much of the fight against hull of its size or lower.

Apogee is extremely cheap for the ship size & shield tank you're getting. Slap Plasma Cannon and Locust on it and off you go.

Basically what Schwartz said. Also, forgo officer skills and go for Support Doctrine and boom, Apogees will be 14 DP. You can kit them out for a variety of roles to boot. Give the majority Locusts, then grab some with Hurricanes and Squalls for "artillery", and I'd recommend Cyclone for your flagship.
In the event that some smaller ships would still cause issues with the Locusts constantly swarming give a few of them Converted Hangars and mix in some Talons and Gladiuses, whichever is permitted by OP.
