I've heard you are very careful with copyrights here. I think I've come up with a solution for that.
What if I remade the portraits from scratch instead of photoshopping them? Like this Technoviking I've drawn this morning, for example:

This way it can pass for a parody or tribute, which are much more copyright-friendly than just straightforward photoshopping, I think.
On other hand, this is a hell lot of more time consuming than collaging, and it will take forever to complete.
What if we picked some of the portraits which are known to be the most copyright problematic, so I remake only those?
For the authors that are known for not tolerating the spoofs of their works, we just delete the corresponding meme portraits and forget about them.
And we leave the rest of the portraits as is.
