Hello guys,

i wonder if i could just delete character portraits from different modfiles without crashing my game.
Point is: is use many mods, which are very high quality - yet they often add some meme/animie portraits which i hate to see ingame.
As it would be "much work" to replace the portraits with more fitting - i would just delete them.

Would the game be able to handle it - if it wants to take a specific portrait which is defined in a faction.data // settings.json (from the modfile) ?

Like would it crash, would it just use any other portrait or would it just dont display any portrait at all?

No need to delete the file. You do need to delete the entry from faction files.

If you just delete the file, the game will try to use it and will crash.

delete your bad taste first.

Easiest method is to just replace the portraits with other portraits.

Volkov Industrial Conglomerate is a full blown faction mod, a dam cool one btw, that has this feature built into one of their special buildings. You can replace any current officer or administrator pic with anything you have in your library. Be warned you need to be neutral with them to use this service, but that's not a problem long term, just at moments you might not be.
