Disappointment is subjective. You're trying to argue based on its potential to dish out damage against a low tech fleet which was never in question.

I wonder if AI Zigg's hullmod will ever be available for players. Without it Ziggy feels extremely boring.

I mean, if you know what you are doing you can edit the hullmod file to have the mod available.

But I agree with the decision to not make it available.
It makes a powerful and borderline broken ship even more so.
A phaseship with extremely powerful missile and fighter defenses that don't consume flux and which can also be used as fast long range missiles that ignore shields.
Stomping around for a bit with it is fun but it also gets boring fast.

As for my strategy, it's soaking the motes with capitals/cruisers and then pressure with beams, fighters and missiles.
It is a very tough fight because the Ziggurat has a very high burst damage loadout.

I'm not arguing that ship is strong. No. It's borderline OP as intended, but Ziggurat's gameplay is not entertaining.
It can wipe out everything, but is not engaging as more light and fast ships. I would like to compare it to Paragon, they both powerfull but they gameplay is extremely sluggish.
And i clearly see why damaging motte is not presented on playership. I'm just fantasizing.

Tried that, piloting it for single battle was convincing enough to scrap it, it's beyond overpowered. Can't disagree with the boring part, though.

215 DP is enough to completely outclass it, just need the right ships:

Cmon son. Remnant ships is basically having cheat codes, Also using modded or omega weapons. Doesn't really show the fight properly does it? Try this in the midgame without all your end game gear. Nothing is this game is a challenge once you've reached the level of gear displayed in your video.

 ;D Legit tactic - Automated ships are cool, and Radiance is the main reason to pick it.

P.S. there was only one mod weapon used in small slots called Plasma Caster and its very well balanced actually, even slightly subpar for damage, but it has 650 range, so I put it with Blasters and Plasma Cannons to complement.

Well that's true for a midgame fleet that cant tank it so well Zig can cause a lot of trouble, I'm really never rushing this quest line to be honest.

Getting Automated Ships is an opportunity cost.  For me who wants Combat and Industry 5, that means no Leadership skills whatsoever, and some of them are very good.
