My save file has become corrupted, and I may or may not have accidentally deleted the .bak file in the save folder. Is there any way to fix this or do I have to start a new save?

Hi - if you deleted the .bak file (and it's not in your recycle bin), and you haven't done a "save copy", then you're probably out of luck, unfortunately.

Holy moly, thank you for reminding me about the recycling bin, haha! I restored the files I had deleted, what should I do now? Thanks again for reminding me about the recycling bin lol.

Whew, maybe? Copy off the non-loading .xml files (descriptor.xml and campaign.xml) and then remove the .bak extension from the .bak file - basically, replacing the current files with the .bak versions. Then cross your fingers and try to load the game.

Nice, glad that did it! I'd make a "Save Copy" (from the campaign menu) so you have another layer of backup, just in case.
