Anyone else encountered this?
« on: January 01, 2022, 08:55:27 AM »

(Pardon the low quality screenshot, had to mess with it to get it below 192KB)

So I'm out exploring near the edge, find an uninteresting system, take a quick look, nothing valuable, jump out and move on. Standard routine. Except that in hyperspace I notice I'm suddenly inside a slipstream, and a large sensor ghost leaving said slipstream in it's wake is flying off towards the edge of the map. I enter the slipstream, and apparently speed 30 is faster than the sensor ghost so I actually catch up to it. Unfortunately it just disappears, and shortly thereafter the slipstream goes away with it.

So...yeah. Has anyone else seen this before?

Slipstreams over star systems? What a prick. I wish I could fight hyperspace ghosts.

If you see one like this stationary, try getting close and sensor pinging it

I love these sensor ghosts. They're unoficially called leviathans and if you pulse interdict them they run away from you. Use them to create a slipstream to wherever you need to go.

You don't need to pulse/ping them, just fly close to the big sensor blob and it will start moving away and create the slipstream, so you can stay dark if you want/need to. Some are alone and will just sit there until you get close to them, others have the tiny blips dancing around it that will trigger the slipstream without you doing anything.

The scariest one is the one the size of a star system that activates all the hyperspace storms in its wake.
