[0.95.1a-RC6] Heron refuses to use system with claws

Heron never activates his system if he has even 1 wing of claws with 2 wings of any other fighter, removing claws make it use his system as normal.

Thank you for the report! Hmm - I'm not able to reproduce this, though this was, iirc, an issue in 0.95a that I'd fixed (perhaps misremembering something, though). But regardless, I just tried various Heron fighter loadouts involving Claws and it seems to use Targeting Feed without an issue. In your shoes, I'd 1) make sure it's not a mod-related issue, and if it persists, 2) try a clean reinstall of the game.

got fresh install and disabled all mods still happening, if you can't replicate it i guess you fixed it in dev and forgot about it

Hmm, pretty sure that's not the case! <checks version control> I haven't touched that AI since March. I suspect it's more likely we're doing slightly but critically different things.

did some more tests, if ship without weapons 1 wing of claws is enough to stop ship from using system, if it has weapons (i had 1x tac laser 1x heavy needler 5xPD laser) it stops using system with at least 2 wings

Not over here! Testing a stripped Heron with one or two Claw wings vs a Lasher, or a Hammerhead, or a Venture, and it uses the system as expected. Weird.

Even more tests, striped heron with 3 claws against some targets:
atlas - doesn't uses
shepherd - uses
lasher - uses
picket - uses
dram - uses
so its smth specific to atlas (first time i found that bug it was with custom system which uses targeting feed AI vs target cube from target practice mod)

does the same thing happen with Colossus? It has all the same tags as Atlas

Conducted more tests same heron striped with 3 claw wings, its doesn't uses system against all capitals but fine against cruisers and smaller

Ah, thank you, I see it! Fixed this up.

(The issue was that 1) it generally wants to use the system when the fighters are lined up in an attack run, and 2) it was not considering the radius of the target for that calculation (this specific part being the bug), so for large ships they were never seen as being "in an attack run". For interceptors and support fighters it also considers how many weapons are firing, but not for "regular" fighters, which the Claws are...)
