Will keep the Champion in mind for that... Hadn't even considered using one for support but it could work as you said. But the Champion is a cruiser while the sunder is a destroyer.

And ya if I was wanting to include mod ships then there are lots of options... Doesn't apply to vanilla though which is the issue.
