Props to the artist David Baumgart for his good taste. <3 And skills. The portraits in Starsector are just really damn good.

Speaking of Easter eggs, anyone else notice the Particle Vortex Cannon from Weird Worlds: RTIS ?  I giggled with excitement when I first saw it get fired.

Totally missed this, and SMAC is one of top three video games all time.
Thank you so much for pointing it out, and David for being awesome!(cannot believe Yang didn't make it click!)

Definitely looking forward to some roleplay runs now. Not sure how that would work with Deidre, but maybe whatever leaves those slipstream trails next release will give me something to work with...

What, where?? I played so much of that game it's weird how I never saw that easter egg. Then again I skipped dialogue in my last playthrough.

I somehow never noticed the Lal portrait, only the other 6.

The Starsector Reality Disruptor is the Weird Worlds Particle Vortex Cannon (only way better looking!).

I noticed a similarity between Yang, Morgan and especially Miriam's portraits, but missed others. If there's a game worth referencing, then it's SMAC  ;D

There are several quotes in the game as well, like when Baird says that science is an inherently iterative design

Love both of these games.  Amazing.  I am having a good laugh over this.

The Miriam one bothers me. The others look okay, but Starsector Miriam looks like she's wearing half a melon shell on her head, that hair doesn't look like hair.
