Storyline (bug) oversight.
« on: August 27, 2021, 01:06:23 PM »

In Vanilla storyline mode, when rescue Zal from Kanta-> your able to space Loke whit helmet, that gets u out of there.
However there is no need to use Janus device on gate, transverse and go dark whit the fleet is all u need.
Still this peice of text pops up at the academy:

Clearly i dit not use the janus device, and therefore no gate was used, so an golden halo ect ect ect.... has not happened.

PS great story so far tho ^^

Thanks for the report! ... knowing Baird, however, it was probably a faked-up PR picture in any case :)

Yup, this is the intent. If you never use the Janus device, she never actually refers to you using it. It makes the plot beat a bit weaker, but it does maintain player control through the escape-from-Kanta sequence.

But regarding that tap dialogue, it would be interesting to be able to do something with Gates and a Coronal Tap. Maybe being able to keep Gates to distant sectors open permanently(BTS but permanent), that might be able to justify its otherwise exorbitant upkeep costs(10 transplutonics for 1 industry? You know alphas and their consequences come cheaper than that, even during this update)

I appreciate the suggestion, but this really isn't the forum for it! Per the sticky here, it's important to keep the threads here narrowly focused on the bug reports/issues someone might be having.
