For me I guess its Heavy Autocannons, Swarmers and Ion Cannons

I guess I use them mostly because they are versatile enough despite being somewhat common...plus I like old timey looking artillery pieces like WW2....kinda wish there was a mod to reprite most ballistics to look more like WW2 warship turrets...

Ion Pulser. Even if range is subpar, the combination of burst, normal damage and EMP is incredible. It's hard not to include it on every high-tech ship.

The question is kind of vague so I'll be a bit more specific:

Small:
Energy: Ion Cannons, IR Pulse
HE: LAG
Kinetic: Rail Gun / Needler
Frag: Vulcan
Missile: Sabot

Medium
Energy: Heavy Blaster, Phase Lance
HE: Heavy Mortar
Kinetic: Heavy Needler
Frag: Flak Cannon
Missile: Sabot, Typhoon

Large
Energy: Really depends on the ship but all are good, even Paladin on some builds. Plasma Cannon if flux isn't a concern.
HE: HAG , Hellbore (I think of Mjolnir more as HE so it's also in here)
Kinetic: Mk. IX
Frag: Devastator
Missile: Depends a lot on mount/ship. Just about all are good, though I tend to use MIRVs / Hammers over Cyclones.

My favorite and most used Stadard weapon is the Heavy Plasma cannon. It is even good vs. fighters because it shoots right through.

My actually Favorite Weapons are the combination of Cryoblaster and Volatile Particle Driver. First one rips shields apart while second one eats armor and obliterates hull.

The limited amount of charges of the Volatile particle driver allows even to use both weapons quite flux efficient in the same group despite their different roles.

Machine-guns.

It's cheap. It's everywhere. It does mad DPS. It does kinetic damage. It will shoot down missiles. It's low OP to install. It's flux cheap to use. You can get a double barrelled version. You can get a heavy version that is basically the best anti-shield weapon in the game. And to top it all off it pairs perfectly with all the other weapons in the game.

Never settle for anything less then the old fashioned bullet hose. Put a maxim gun on your anti-matter powered starship today!

Cryoblaster -- as far as I'm concerned, this is so good that it's worth rolling/savescumming to ensure that I get one in the starting cache, 3 each from the hypershunts, and 2 from the unique bounty, for a total of 9 in a playthrough to spread among my fleet. My flagship focuses a lot on chasing down vulnerable ships and killing them before they can retreat behind other ships, so this is awesome as a finisher. Plus, it has pretty good hit strength and flux efficiency; pretty much a somewhat "smaller" version of the heavy blaster but much, much better at finishing off targets.
Antimatter missiles -- when I want some burst damage, which is, quite often.
Minipulser -- being able to have kinetic on energy weapon mount is awesome.

These are all limited though, and well they should be. The downside of being limited is that it just encourages players like me to reroll/savescum to maximize the amount that I can get.

I've also become quite fond of the Sabot pod (good burst kinetic, can last long enough for multiple Ordos fleets with skill/hullmod) and the Xyphos fighter (great at neutralizing enemy ships).

It's hard to make limited weapons the most common ones in your fleet (unless it's just a singular ship), now is it?

"Most used" for me is probably vulcans. I don't think they are OP of anything, but they are solid point defense that I'll use on any small (and some medium) mount that can hold them.

Phase lance... it overwhelms everything and has good range. It seems too good to me, or maybe the AI just doesn’t know how to avoid it?
