Comm relay redius
« on: June 16, 2021, 09:50:08 AM »

Hello there, fellow fleet commanders.

I suggest to add to the map filter which shows radius of comm relays in the sector. I think it would be helpful while surveying to know where you can get fresh intels about bounties and other.

The comm relay range: the entire system it's in, plus hyperspace directly over the system in question. It's very simple, making comm relay range overlay nearly synonymous with habitated systems overlay.

Yes, but sometimes there are pirate bases in inhabitaed systems with working relays.

Those are hidden. And they wouldn't be very well hidden, if you could select this comm range overlay and notice weird lone spots in the supposedly uninhabited outer rim.

"How did you find our hidden base all the way out here?!"
"You left your radio on."

Could just do it the same way as warning beacons. When you spot a relay, you get an intel item for it.

Well, that makes sense.

It’s also worth noting com relays aren’t neutral: they belong to a faction, and if that faction is hostile to you they don’t let you use them.
