Double the hypershunt tap range

That's one way to make it more useful without populating the hypershunt constellations with Class V planets full of vast ruins.

Agreed. The amount of effort required to get it running is insane considering the payoff. Unless the hypershunt also makes travel through Gates free or something.

By the time the player can attain benefits from the hypershunt, wouldn’t they necessarily already have the ability to easily wipe out all of the other factions?

I definitely get the impressions the coronal hypershunt is a teaser about the next update more than something intended to be used in this one.

It should also work on every system with a gate, after all these things are like Tesla's dreamed wireless AC but with several millennia of funky technomancy on top.

I don't suppose there is a file somewhere one could edit to increase the range on these?
