Just as in the title - i've had multiple cases when pursuing unarmed vessels, my ships were behaving as if they were told to attack a radiant fleet, even under direct eliminate order.

Provided a picture of Fury tempering it's namesake in terror of a mighty warship. Did anybody else notice this behavior?

Hmm - do you happen to have a vanilla save, or a simulator scenario, where this is easy to reproduce and observe directly? If so: I'd love to take a look!

I'll try to make one now. Also, boy' I've heard that you are responsive, but this is on another level. Hats off.

Here you go, just before a chase - attack ships, like aurora or fury, when ordered to eliminate the non-mothballed ships ( which run away the fastest) seem to treat the atlas as if it was an escort paragon safeguarding the rest of the convoy. For the rest of the fight the Fury is unable to chase down a collosus. At least that's what happened when i tested it.

Haha, didn't realize it was only a couple of minutes! Let's just say that I hope this does not set expectations unreasonably high :)

Thank you for the save! Going to take a look right now.

I have also encountered some weirdness with regards to highly aggressive officers behaving like they're timid for weird reasons. I don't think i have seen the behavior on less than aggressive officers so it might be an overflow/underflow/undefined range bug.

I don't have a save but can definitely corroborate that its happening as of the second most recent patch.

Other specific issues i have are: Aggressive Officers not understanding enemy threat range/self engagement range. They will strafe into enemy engagement range when on an engage or eliminate order and get what looks like "threat locked" where they constantly bounce around between two enemy threats and are unsure of what to do when faced with it. This is very noticable with front shield front weapon ships like the Brawler(fit long or short range)

E.G. I had an Reckless officer in a LP Brawler currently engaging a XIV enforcer that i told to go eliminate a target that was behind them.(So they were directly in a line between the XIV enforcer and the target) and the brawler, despite having like 230 speed, refused to disengage with the enforcer. It would turn away to make like it was going to eliminate the target behind him but receive a bit of kinetic fire and immediately turn towards the target and hold position and start the strafe dance (doing so until the enforcer was between it and the target i wanted it to kill)

I think that separate issue might be related to the combination of fixed front shields and fixed forward guns as (Shoot thing in range) and (center shields on incoming damage) are likely over-rides to general order behavior like moving.

Continually happened back in 9.1, never used it again since.
Why suffer watching kites and wolves gently escorting unarmed ships off the map when autoresolve does it instantly, gets more kill and has 0% chance to get losses on your side?

Fixed this up, at least for scenarios where mostly civilian ships are involved.

Spoiler
[close]

(In the above gif, the Aurora started directly below the Atlas, and has an "eliminate" order on the Colossus.)

That sounds like a different issue - I suspect it's the one fixed in -RC15, with ships basically just having trouble closing in in a number of situations.

I am on -RC14 but -RC 15 doesn’t indicate that it fixes those bugs, just some campaign stuff
